Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day Weekend was also 

Brooke and Chris'  11th Anniversary

They wanted to go backpacking without kids

so we took them for the two days Brooke &

Chris could get away.  I didn't get a lot of pics

but I'll share what I did get.  

It was a beautiful weekend, the first 80 degree Memorial Day 

Weekend since 1995 in the Pacific Northwest,

so we were outside a lot.

 No helmet no ride

 He can be stuborn

 but he still had fun

 Ellie knows the rules

 Some evening inside stuff you just have to 

play with at Gram's

 He'll wear a helmet for this one

 Off to the beach

 Yes, it was 80 degrees

 Walt helped a first time boat launcher get his boat 

into the water.  It actually took three guys to do it.

There was a brand new truck on the other side of the 

dock that was stuck in the mud after driving back

to far into the water to launch his boat.  A tow truck

came and pulled him out.  No picture, couldn't 

bring myself to take one with him standing there.

 Pete was getting brave

 Ellie liked the shells

 She even got brave enough to try for a crab

 They scooped them up in shells
 Pete did pick some up with his fingers

but then dropped them so fast I couldn't get a picture

 Ellie got a couple in her shells.  She was pretty pround

 And the dolls had to come out finally

The kids did a great job with us alone for the first time. 

They kept us moving, hence the lack of pictures, but you 

get the idea!!  

Happy Memorial Day

Ellie's Recital

Ellie has been taking Ballet and Tap this year. 

Saturday was her recital

Hair first

 then make-up 

 Lots of that

 Tights and leotard

 She stood still long enough

 We were not allowed to take pictures during the performance

But I'm sure they didn't mean Grams

This was at the end credits

Ellie is in the front row second from the left

 So Happy

 Of course, the professional pictures are taken when we get home 

 A beautiful Ballerina

 Pete is really interested.  He's watering

the plants.  He says, "No pictures of Pete."

 and he means it

A change of skirt and now you have the Tap costume

 This is what ballerinas wear on their feet outside

 Done!!  That's all you get 

Pete did allow a picture of him with lime in his mouth
