Another Layer of Spring

Everything is coming on early because of the rain in March
and now the warmer than normal weather in April
'Blue Peter'

The red one was here when we moved in and we
planted the 'Blue Peter' soon after

The red peony is starting to open
They get huge but no smell

The lilacs are almost done
But they still smell great

'Snowball'

double blossom azalea

ferns are looking good

'Swingtime' fuchsia
Thanx Mel

To be continued, for a little while anyway, then
all the flowers are done blooming and the yard is
all green,  well if we water it

This is Walt's Spring activity

Walt's Family

Walt's brother, Vic, and Cecil came up from Moab for a visit
so we all got together at Don's house
They barbecued oysters and steamed some clams

Next Layer of Spring Flowers

After the daffodils die back and the Daphne finishes blooming
my first rhodie to bloom pops out
"Mrs. G. W. Leak"

The lilacs bud up

The Trillium blooms

and the Japanese Rose fills out

The first azalea is opening up
And now it begins!!

Building a Playground for Two

It's time for a playground at Brooke's house
We got Ellie a sandbox for Christmas 2014
Brooke wanted to put in a yard before the sandbox went in
Then she wanted to knock some dead trees down before
the sandbox and swingset went in
Now the yard is in and the trees are down and the
weather is amazing
Chris had this Friday off and I didn't have to do jury duty
so we headed over
The play yard will be back there under the trees

and so will the bigger sandbox
But first you have to play in the little one to bide
your time or jump off the deck

or get a ride on the dolly

All they really needed was a box not a whole swing set

Back to the deck for killing some time

A picnic outside

Don't really know why he's got a fork in his other hand
maybe for balance

Coming along

Pete's down for a nap.  Ellie got to skip hers today
so she could watch the progress

and play in the 'canoe'

Top beam up

Where is Ellie?

Pop!!

Swing holds going in

Just chillin'

We put her to work.  She's holding the screws and passing
them out as needed

and supervising

She is too dang cute

First trip (of many) up the climbing wall

Ready to be the first one down the slide

and the second

She was ecstatic

"Dirt"
"Hey wait, I might be able to do that too/"

Watering of plants

She is a big helper

"I'll just water whatever is over here"

Getting excited for the sandbox
From garage

to play area

16 bags of sand

Ellie couldn't wait

Pete was so proud of himself for getting over that seat

Pete is going to love this.  Now how to keep the sand
in the box?!  Not gonna happen

Very fun spot!!
