Newest Baby Quilt

I make family quilts for all the nieces and
nephews when they have their first baby.
(if I made one for each grand niece and nephew
I'd be way too busy, between Walt and I there are
50 grand nieces and nephews)
Michelle and Kennedy had their first baby
May 16th
This is their family quilt  --  The Hidden Four Patch
I sew their family name in the border.  Then they
can use it for all the babies in their family
 The back
And I sign and date the back
The four patch, hence the name
 cut into triangles
 second four patch
 cut into triangles
The four patches sewn together makes two of these squares
 It's cut into little pieces
The four pieces with two rectangles are turned 180 degrees
and each piece is sewn into a block
Each block is sewn together
then borders, batting, and back quilted together
 and the binding     Done!!

Trip to California

We don't normally go to California in June
because it's to hot but Cade was having
an 8th Grade Graduation Ceremony
so off we went
Large class.  See the lady standing in the bleachers
wearing the gray top and black pants?  Cade is in the
blue shirt and shorts right above her head
Cade is in front of the third seat in the second row
walking in
Getting ready to go up and get his diploma
 Getting his diploma
I thought I would be able to crop this but when we
updated our computer my program disappeared
Then to find Cade afterwards was a little tricky
Brooke gave this cactus to Amy about 13 years ago.
It was a little start off of Aunt Ruth's big one.
This year it decided to bloom and it did twice already.
Then Amy put us to work painting the
inside of her house.  The old color is the
yellow tone in the back
Painted to the gray color.
But we painted all the gray color into
the living room, hallway, rec room, office
and hall to the garage.  Quite a project

We got to see one of Claire's Lacrosse practices

They had a tournament in Petaluma on the weekend
They got their new uniforms the same day
Claire was goalie for the first half of most of the four games

Needless to say her team was dominating the ball
so there wasn't much for their goalie to do
and the second half of the second game too
We spent the night so out to dinner we went
Claire wears her hair in braids because the
goalie helmet is so tight. Pretty hair Claire
They won all five games in the tournament
 and got First Place Medals
Good Job Girls!!
Tournament Tshirt and a milk shake
In the median on the freeway they have oleander planted.
When we were down in April they weren't in bloom yet,
but now they are

While we were in Petaluma at the tournament
Cade was in Boston on a week trip with his school.
Lucky Duck!!

Busy Week for us but time to leave when the temps hit 102 :o)
