Spring Trip to Seattle

It was such a beautiful day we made a trip to Seattle
with friends to check out the new link of Lite Rail
The Olympics were gorgeous

The ferry ride was great

Caught the Light Rail at Pioneer Square
and rode the new link to Husky Stadium.
The stadium is the last stop at the north end of the rail

The stadium was renovated in 2012

Hec Ed in the background is the basketball arena

There's a walk way above to get people over the road to
the university itself

Inside the Rail

Bob and Carol

We rode the Light Rail back to town and on down to
Sea/Tac airport which is the last stop to the south
Mt. Rainier as we are heading into the airport area

Sea/Tac Airport

This plane was right there practically beside us heading
back to Seattle.  They were landing at Boeing Field

Rainier High School
Playing lacrosse on the field, Claire

Next stop Sodo (south of downtown)

Shoot, I forgot to get pictures at Ivar's, but we had an
early dinner there before heading home.
Would have been good to have a few pics of the construction
on the new seawall going in outside Ivar's too,
but I'm not that quick!!

Ball Stadiums from the ferry home!!
I think the temp got up to 68, it was a beautiful day to spend
in Seattle!!

Spring Day with Ellie & Pete

When we left home it was blue sky and sunny.  When we
turned off the freeway at Brooke's it was foggy.
We played in the house in the morning

Dress up time I guess

The two of them were playing 'Library', picking out books
and putting them in a bag for me

Pa got some play time in too

Pete even climbs on blocks if they are on the floor

Wacky straw

Pete does pretty well at feeding himself
(14 months now)

New sand we brought back from Bandon for the tub

We played out there on the lawn with the sand for
a couple hours

Strawberries for dessert.  Ellie is a big helper

Pete loves them

Ellie and the sour cream from dinner

Oh My!!

That's what Pete thinks too!

Easter

Helen was nice enough to invite us to Easter at her house

Pete's Easter duds with Giuliana behind
and Jake way back

Giuliana in her Easter finery

Jake and Anthony

Ellie likes the kitchen

The adults like the other kitchen
left to right: Kerri, Chris, Walt, Matt, Bruce, and Vince

Helen had a house full.  Three of their friends and their
families besides our families
Teenage neighbors came over and hid the eggs for the
egg hunt.  The kids are lined up to be set free in order of age

Pete didn't take long to get the hang of it

It was sprinkling at the beginning

Kerri, Sam, and Lex showing their haul

"What's in there?"

Bruce, Lex, and Patti
What a fun day.  Thanks Helen and Vince!!

Bandon

Amy and her family didn't get to go to Bandon last summer
so we decided to try a Spring Break at Bandon

Not Bad!!

but I wasn't really expecting the tides to be up so high

On the way to the beach

the washing of feet on the return

We got some rainy weather so we decided to celebrate
Claire's 9th birthday.  It's kind of nice when they get
to a certain age and they'll make their own cake

Happy Birthday, Claire (April 13th, tho)

Red is her color

Kind of a blurry picture but Cade learned how to make
popcorn the old fashion way.  No microwave at this cabin

A couple stormy days

caused us to find things to do inside
Cade found a puzzle

Some played card games

Payton only wanted to help

Weird clouds

but still pretty

The old fashion egg beater was a hit

A little stiff at first

But the end product was yummy

Then some very nice days

with some deck time

and some lacrosse on the beach

and wave jumping

football tossing

 some rock climbing too

This was a little blurry too but it was the full moon at 5am
the hazy clouds around it made it look huge

We went up to Florence to do some dune riding

Cade loved his goggles

Loved the ride

Wow the sand went on forever

We all made it back in one piece

Then on to fish 'n chips in town

It wouldn't be the same without a bonfire
and smores

and one last beautiful day full of activities

Cade learned a lot on this trip

What's Bandon without a trip to the Creamery?

Bordeaux Cherry

Two Cuties!!

and the last Sunset!!

Fun times!

Cade took one of his new found skills home with him

We missed you Brooke, Chris, Ellie, Pete, and Charlie
but it looks like you had some fun things to do at home
