Claire's Dress

Claire is having her First Communion in May and
I get to make her dress.  This is so Amy can see it.
The bottom will have two four inch bands of matte
satin around the top layer of organza at the very
bottom and four inches up from that one.

These pictures don't really do it justice!

There will also be a ribbon around the waist
and a bow at the back with streamers .

In June Claire will be a flower girl in her
uncle's wedding, the ribbon will be changed out for navy blue.
Her cousin, Emma, is also in the wedding so
I'm starting on her dress next.  :o)

A Weekend with Ellie and Pete

Brooke and Chris wanted to get some stuff down around the house this weekend
so we went over to help.  Walt helped clean gutters, do some wiring, etc.
I watched the kids so Brooke could go outside too.

It was a hard job but I persevered.  Pete sleeps really
well...as long as he's being held. Wouldn't you?
And since it's so fun to hold him we both win

Ellie is a big help in the kitchen.  This weekend
she helped with Corn Casserole

She loves Corn Casserole as much before it's
cooked as after

Got more smiles out of Pete this time

He's a keeper

We even got to be there for a bath night
He loves his mommy

Sleeping in the bouncy seat

And he does cry sometimes too.

Ellie and Pete

Pete's 3 weeks old

Ellie and Gram played Legos
Here Peyton is in the sauna in the back of
the dump truck

Then we went on to playing with her magnetic shapes
We made a kennel with a side yard
Ellie has all the animals and people lined up along the
fence.  I remember her mom putting all her cars in a
straight line along her dresser

Ellie got a matching game from Tom and Sherry

Fun with flour

Kept her busy while I got the soup going

She loves her cheese

Good Times!!

FYI:  If you left click on a picture you can view them bigger!!

Another Wednesday with Ellie & Pete

Ya, another Wednesday with our Grandkids, no explanation necessary

Pete's two weeks old now.  This looks like Daddy!

He looks well feed

Ellie made a Valentine picture with hearts,
 letters, and paint

While Pete.....watched?

She's a hard worker!

Wednesday with Ellie AND Pete

Even tho Brooke is not going into the office, Walt and
I went over on Wednesday anyway.  After all it was
Brooke's birthday!!  Ya, and we got to see Ellie and Pete.

Pete sleeps good if he's fed, dry, and being held

Ellie and I made Mommy's birthday cake.  We only
made half since there were only 5 of us eating it.  This
way she can save the other half when someone comes
over to see Pete.  :o)

Not sure how much frosting actually got on the cake
but I guess if the cake is covered it's all good.

Yummmmmm

Then Ellie helped me make cornbread to
go with the chili for dinner

She didn't like the taste of that as much

Pete was awake a lot of the time

Ellie's very helpful

Whose birthday was it again!!

And Ellie with Pete

We took Ellie to meet her new baby brother.

She wasn't too sure of him at first.  They had been
telling her babies cry a lot, but when we walked
into the hospital room he wasn't crying and
she said, "He isn't crying"

She warmed up to him fast

and when he cried all was well

She wanted to hold him

and kiss him

and hug him

and then she ate her lunch in the hospital
lying down on a pillow

She held him with Daddy too

The new Family

We told her to laugh because she gets a funny smile
when we say smile, just as funny

and then we were back home with her Legos and
all was right with the world

Pete came home

Ellie went to her swim lessons with Gram
instead of Mommy or Daddy

She had improved since the last time I had gone
with her

What is going on?

I think he loves his big sister

As much as she loves her baby brother
