Fishing Trip

We haven't been to Curlew Lake since the kids were
small.  Don & Mickie had a trip planned and invited
us so we went.  The joy of being retired
Mel & Gary met us there and Walt and Gary took
our kayak out on it's maiden voyage
 in sync
We went down the lake and visited Tiffany Resort
 Mostly cabins
The old railroad trestle now part of the bike trail
We stayed at Black Beach Resort you can see it across
the lake
The ladies spent their days painting rocks to
place around on our trip
The guys on the first leg of the trip
John, Dave, Tom, Don, Walt, Gary
 The ladies
Mel, Mickie, Julie, Cathy, Sherry, Me
 The view from our campsite
 Can't beat it!

 Took a boat ride
The view of our campground from the lake
 Beautiful lake
Fishing was good from the docks too
A little foggy the last morning
Baby geese all over

Off to Hope, Idaho for some more fishing
Mel & Gary left us tho and our campsite
wasn't on the water
 But there was wildlife
 Didn't get many pictures there
The weather was a little stormy

Then on to Potholes Reservoir for the last leg.
Chuck and Diane met us there
Big campsites but not on the water

Had a killdeer family right in the campsite in the
hot gravel.  Egg in the nest, might be hard boiled tho.
A lot of the campsites had full timers in them
One guy is a cherry picker and gave us a bunch of them
The fishing was good
Dave caught the 21 incher
The ladies painting rocks with their
head in their apps
Sherry broke her ankle a week before we left
She could have stayed home and sat around or come
camping and sat around.  Good choice!!

We had a great time and the weather improved at
Potholes so a nice ending to a good camping trip!
Thanks for the invite Don & Mickie

Ellie's Celebration of Writing

Ellie's Kindergarten Class had a
Celebration of Writing
Walt stayed home with Pete and I got
to go with Brooke to the Celebration
Each child presented their report on an animal of their choice
that they researched over the past few months
The adults rotated from table group to table group and
the kids stayed and presented their report to each new
adult group as they came over to their table
Then the students showed all their work for the year
to their guests
 Ellie wrote this in September
Another example of September writing
October has a few changes with longer sentences
This is Gram & Pa's house if you can't tell
Another trip to Gram & Pa's house in November
The progress to May is phenominal
They grow so much in Kindergarten
Pete in May
 And in June
Brooke said this is the first time he paid attention to
the haircut.  He wanted to see it in the mirror afterward
Boy, this looks like Walt's nephew DJ
The new sofa made into a slide

 Too Cute!!
Thanks Ellie for sharing your celebration with me

New Flooring ... Done

We have finally finished our floors!!
Have a look
Hallway with the carpet
 Gone
New vinyl planks
Old carpet in the living room
 Gone
New floor
Dining room with the old linoleum before carpet
New floor partially done
Outdoor dining for four days
Luckily the weather cooperated
Old bathroom linoleum before the oak look linoleum
Now the bathroom matches the rest of the floors
Top of the stairs looking down the hall with carpet
Then the old linoleum on the landing at the front door
New flooring at the top of the stairs and the landing
Looking down the hall toward the bathroom from the office
 New kitchen floors
And the view of the living room and dining room
The door into the garage at the bottom of the
stairs looked a little drab
No More!!

Now for the base boards, never ending!!
Glad to be back together tho.
