Quick Sewing Project

After finishing the quilt for our bed I thought I'd make
pillowcases to go with it.
 Love the zigzag border
Since I bought the fabric for the quilt three years ago I had
to go online and see if I could find the same pieces I used
Found the tan leaves online, had the big fern print,
and got the dark green her in town

Done with that one part of the bedroom

Rosary Making

I started making rosaries at the church a while back
Rope Rosary
Takes about 15 feet of cording to make one
The Hail Mary's and Our Father's are made with 3 loop barrel knots
The Cross is made with 4 and 8 loop barrel knots
These are oval beads with 5 feet of white cord
 Supplies
Centerpiece with a six loop barrel knot attached
Ten Hail Mary beads with another six loop barrel knot
Six loop barrel knot
The Our Father bead with the barrel knots on either side
After I get all 5 decades of Hail Mary bead with
4 Our Father beads the cord is attached
to the other side of the Centerpiece and the Pendant is started
The Crucifix is attached to the Pendant
"voila" all done with all the cord ends tucked into the closest bead
I get two of these rosaries done at the meeting, with all the other ladies,
after I collect all the supplies I'll need to make some at home.
Our priest gives the blue rope rosaries away at the men's retreat.
 He needs 150 of them
The bead rosaries are given away at the Rosary before funerals,
RCIA classes, to our sister parish in Uganda, etc.
First Communion teachers buy supplies for their
second graders to get nice chain rosaries.  Each one takes about
8 hours to make.  I haven't learned that skill yet.

Ellie & Pete visit Gram & Pa

Brooke and the kids came over for Brooke's 20 year class reunion
so we got to watch the kids for the evening
I decided it was a good time to paint their feet :o)
We'll make the feet into airplanes when they dry
Pete sits on the trike for a minute or two then says, "stuck"
The go cart is still popular

Good place for cows and goats
 They wanted spaghetti for dinner
 Yummmmmm
Great Gramma Hoem's doll buggy got its exercise
back and forth down the hall
bringing out all the stuffed animals
Pete plays with whatever Ellie has out
and somethings that are just there
Fun time.
Thanks for the visit!!

A Day with Ellie & Pete

Chris turned 40 so we went over to help celebrate
Instead of wrapping the big box that was his present
I decided to see if I could find some super heroes to help
me decorate it
 They were super for sure
Pete had to get the hang of those dobbers
 Looking Good!!
A few helpful hints from a big sister
 and then he took off

Painting done, now off to the sandbox, but shoes first
 Looks like fun
Swinging thru the bubbles was a must

A few trail walks was in the mix too
or should I say trail runs?

 Ellie talks the whole way
 and off they go again
Ellie's the neatnik, sits on the seat and Pete is right IN the sand

She likes it up on the platform
 Nice yard
 Snack time
Chris got home so he opened presents before dinner
Pete read a book
 while Ellie helped Daddy
 Pete played on the pillows
 while Ellie helped Daddy
When it was all opened Pete shows up
 and more fun began
Happy Birthday, Daddy!
